Wednesday, January 14, 2009, Registration begins at 8:00 am,, McCormick Place South, Room S404BC. Registration required.

What is the extent of the looming shortage of transportation, distribution, and logistics workers? What resources are available to assist your company in finding qualified workers to carry out the daily activities of your business two to ten years from today?

These and more questions will be answered in the “Training and Certifying the Workforce of the Future” seminar to be held on Wednesday morning of ProMat. You will receive information and one-on-one opportunities to discuss with leading workforce experts and industry leaders:

  • Industry representatives will discuss how they are meeting this fast approaching shortage.
  • Leading trade associations will share the ways and means available through their programs to educate and train current and potential employees. These associations include: APICS, CSCMP, ISM, WERC, MHEDA and MHIA
  • Vocational high schools and vocational/technical community colleges will share their successes in bringing this much needed training to local communities. Starting a program in your area is as easy as calling upon existing institutions.
  • A nationally recognized certification and standards organization, the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) will provide information and procedures for educating and certifying existing and potential workers as Certified Logistics Associates (CLA) and Certified Logistics Technicians (CLT).

This program is complimentary to all registered Show attendees. Registration for the ProMat Show is required.
